Lemke Stone, Inc. a family owned company was founded in 1965 by Arnie Lemke. It all began after working for 9 years for a local stone company that Arnie decided to go into business for himself and named the company Arnie Lemke Stone Co. Arnie first started delivering Wisconsin Fieldstone straight from a gravel pit near Steven’s point, Wisconsin. After gaining a strong customer base, Arnie started stock piling his fieldstone at another local stone company. When the time was right he purchased 3 acres of land in Lannon, Wisconsin which is now currently the home of our retail/ fieldstone yard. For the next 37 years Arnie and his wife Peggy ran the company, trucking stone locally to Landscapers and Masons throughout the Midwest. Arnie and Peggy prided themselves on making sure the company provided quality natural stone products with exceptional customer service. Arnie’s sons Kim and Mark came to work with them in the mid 70’s helping produce a deliver stone. In 1986 Arnie purchased an abandoned Lannon Stone Quarry on the west end of Lannon. (21575 W. Good Hope Road.) A 10,000 sq. ft. saw shop was built to house a Hydro Splitter and two Diamond Blade Saws. He hired experienced stone cutters to quarry and manufacture custom Lannon and Bedford stone products. In 1996 Kim and Mark bought the company from Arnie and renamed it: Lemke Stone, Inc. Arnie continued to work for the company. In 2000 Arnie retired at the age of 70. After taking over the company, Kim and Mark added an additional 6,000 sq. ft. to the saw shop to house two more Diamond Blade Saws. They also added a Tumbler and Thin Veneer Machine to meet the needs of their customers. The 3rd generation is currently learning the business and gaining experience. Kim’s son Jason has worked full time for the past 10 years. He performs a variety of the jobs from blasting stone to running the saws to loading the customers. Kim & Mark’s wives also work in the office, taking care of the day to day operations of the business. The production staff has over 100 years of combined experience in stone fabrication. This expertise allows us to maintain the highest quality natural stone products that far exceeds out competitors. Our State-of the- Arts Saws run 24/7, allowing us to keep up the needs of our customers. We recently opened an indoor showroom for our customers at 21385 W. Good Hope Road. Our goal at Lemke Stone, Inc. continues to focus on quality stone products and personalized service just as Arnie and Peggy established 35 years ago We work with Masons, Landscapers and contractors throughout the Midwest. We also work with customers and have a Retail yard at 19594 W. Good Hope Road for the “Do-it-yourself” Landscaper.
