Unpopular opinion:
There should be a CAP on how much tax the government can take from one person.
I don’t care if you make $100K or $100 million.At some point it stops being taxation and starts being punishment for success.
Let’s be honest…
The same people we tax the most are usually the ones creating businesses, employing people, investing in communities, and taking the risks most people won’t take.
But the more successful you become, the more the system says:
“Congratulations… now give us more.”
Make it make sense.
• Success shouldn’t come with unlimited penalties. There should be a maximum percentage the government can take — period.
• When you overtax productivity, you discourage growth. People stop expanding, hiring, and investing.
• Government spending has no ceiling, but citizens’ income shouldn’t either. If households have to budget, so should the government.
• A cap would force accountability. Instead of constantly reaching deeper into taxpayers’ pockets, leaders would actually have to manage money responsibly.
And before someone jumps in the comments yelling “tax the rich!” — remember this:
Many of the jobs we work today exist because somebody somewhere built something successful.
You can believe in taxes and believe there should be limits.
So let me ask y’all something…
Should the government have unlimited access to someone’s income just because they made more money?
Or should there be a maximum tax percentage — no matter how rich someone gets?
