You know it's a good one when the dispatcher says "I have a tow for you, but you're not going to like it." The driver of this 15 Ram reportedly was choking on something when he crashed thru the steel guard rail coming down the hill on Bliss rd, went airborne, hit a tree about 4 feet off the ground, then rolled approximately 60 feet down the bluff, coming to rest against a tree. To get down to the wreck, we used repelling ropes supplied to us by LCFD to negotiate the ice covered hill. We were on scene about 3 hrs total and worked with the lax street dept to remove the bent and twisted guard rails and posts to allow us to get the truck back up the hill.. several trees were also removed to make a clear path. No word on the driver's condition.

A short recovery... I was told by an officer on scene that the driver had a medical issue and lost control causing him to leave the road and go airborne, coming to rest in a ditch just south of the I90 bridge. The car suffered major suspension damage and was transported by flatbed.

This one was 3am Friday morning... GMC Yukon was traveling north on South Ave at a high rate of speed when it struck a south bound semi tractor at the split where 3rd and 4th meet. The impact was hard enough to rip the front axle fron the tractor and push it back, causing the fuel tank to rupture and spilling diesel fuel on the road. The driver was transported, no word on condition.

An accident from earlier this week... a Chevy Malibu was doing an estimated 70 mph down 5th street, blew the stop sign at Jackson St and struck a Jeep that was traveling down Jackson. Both vehicles ended up in a front yard, striking a house. The Malibu came to rest in its roof and the driver fled the scene on foot. As of Thurs morning, the police were still looking for him.

Got a call from Vernon County earlier this week for a truck stuck in the mud next to the railroad tracks north of Stoddard. Apparently the driver left the road at the crossing near the co-op and drove on the ballast over a mile north before getting stuck in a muddy area. The vehicle was recovered to the roadway with no further damage.

We got called in the other night to help out Molling Towing with cleaning up this mess. I was told the driver of the truck lost his brakes and ended up in a water filled ditch along with the loaded car trailer he was towing. It took us about an hour of pulling a jockeying things around, but both truck and trailer were recovered with no additional damage to them or the property on which it occurred. No word on the drivers condition.
