Today's mail brought this year's World's Best issue from Travel + Leisure. Reading through it is always a treat, and a wishlist builder. But when I turned to the best islands page, seeing Malta take the #14 spot made my heart happy. And when it comes to the European list, #3 isn't bad either.

When people ask what I enjoyed most about Malta, my answer is twofold. One answer is the sailing day. I don't think I'll ever not be blown away by the ocean, and when it's this clear? Even more magical.

But truthfully, what I usually say first? Spending a week with the most amazing humans, exploring a new place, laughing, learning, and sharing it all. Traveling in a group can be tough, especially when people don't all know each other. But the inaugural group of SAB Explorers came to Malta with curiosity, kindness, and a willingness to be a little uncomfortable if it meant sharing something great.

That's what makes travel so special - the willingness to connect with something bigger than yourself. With other people, other places, other cultures. It's transformative, and not just because of the pretty blue water.

I loved hosting the first group of Explorers, and yes, I'm already working on the next one. DM me to get on the list to be the first to know more - I'm hoping to announce by the end of the month. I'd love to travel with you.

Other than making our way back to Valletta, we did very little today. I wouldn't have it any other way.

We picked up a few last trinkets, enjoyed a last Maltese meal, and ticked off the last of our to-do lists. Then we simply relaxed and soaked in our last few hours before heading back to our homes, our dogs, our responsibilities, and our people waiting for us. The end of a trip is bittersweet - you're both ready to go and reluctant to leave.

Our goodbye cocktail lasted a couple of hours. I'm grateful for these people, this week, and the incredible memories we made. Travel is a bond, and how fortunate we are to have shared it. As we close the door (knockers!) on the inaugural She's All Booked Explorers trip, my heart is full. Thank you for making this the week it was. ♥️

We got up close and personal with Gozo's wild side today on our hike. From the salt pans to the rock wave, the valley to the window, to mushroom rock, we marveled at the landscape, the capers growing literally everywhere, and the intensity of the Maltese sun.

Speaking of, today was our cloudiest day by far. 😉 (Really, it was. We saw 3 clouds.)

We were pushed out of our comfort zone time and time again,... But the memories we made today will be some of the ones we talk about most.

We ended the day with a private tasting at Tal-Massar, an award-winning Gozotan winery. Their port puts Portugal to shame, and we loved the entire experience.

It's hard to believe we're already in the last days of the trip. It's flown by, and yet also feels like we've just arrived.

Is there anything better than a boat day in the Mediterranean? 😍

Peter and his A-lister-approved boat took us from Sliema to Gozo by way of Comino. We learned a bit about Malta, saw the entire country from tip to tip, and heard stories about popes, knights, and Brad Pitt (he's been on the boat, how cool is that?!). We fed the fish, fed ourselves, and sailed by the cave from Pirates of the Caribbean. The day was wonderful and over far too soon.

We're slowing down in wild, untamed Gozo for the next few days. There are worse places to be.
