Twenty-four hours in Eastsound on Orcas, fall edition.

Morning: The Caravan climbs out of Boeing Field and the Sound falls away below. Kenmore Air Express puts you in Eastsound in as little as 40 minutes, with no ferry line and no I-5.

Late morning: Drop your bags at Outlook Inn on Orcas Island and walk the beach while the light is still low.
