🤪 a hectic morning
📋 a change in routine
📱 a phone call
🥱 lack of sleep (!)
⛔ a road closure.
All of these and many more things can lead to a “disconnect” in your brain where autopilot takes over. Always, always check the back seat. Hot cars can have tragic results for children.

Most hot car tragedies don’t happen because of neglect. They happen because of human memory failure. In over half of cases, a loving, responsible caregiver unknowingly left a child behind. It has happened to teachers, doctors, police officers, and more. The biggest risk is believing it could never happen to you. Build habits that protect your child every time you drive.

Happy Police Week!

This week is National Police Week — a time to recognize and honor the men and women who serve our communities every day. 💙🖤

Our officers work tirelessly to keep our community safe by running towards danger when most are running away from it. Their commitment, courage, and compassion do not go unnoticed.

Please join us in thanking all law enforcement officers for the sacrifices they and their families make in service to others.

To our very own LSPD officers: Thank you for your dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to protecting and serving our Lee's Summit community. We appreciate you today and every day.
