The Limited Game vs. the Infinite Game
There is a difference between what I call a limited game and an infinite game.
A limited game is when you help someone survive today.
You give them food.
You give them clothes.
You give them a place to sleep.
That is important.
That is necessary.
But it is limited.
An infinite game is when you help someone change their future.
When you give a child education,
you are not just feeding them for a day —
you are opening doors for a lifetime.
You are giving them knowledge.
You are giving them power.
You are giving them opportunity.
And opportunity multiplies.
The children we serve have experienced poverty.
They have experienced war.
Many of them have never had access to school.
In some villages we visit, even the parents do not know how to hold a pen or write their own name.
They are not unintelligent —
they are simply denied access to education.
And that denial keeps repeating itself…
generation after generation.
But imagine what happens when we plant one seed of education.
That child learns.
That child grows.
That child teaches others.
And one educated child becomes a leader,
a provider,
a protector,
a voice for others.
Let me tell you about one of them.
When he was five years old, his father was shot and killed in the city of Uvira.
He went to live with his grandmother — a woman with no husband, no income, and other children to care for.
School was a struggle.
Life was a struggle.
But people helped him.
And last year, he finished high school.
Now he says,
“I want to serve others. I want to help children who struggle like I did.”
That is the power of education.
Not just survival…
but transformation.
School is starting soon.
We want to enroll 100 children this semester.
So I am asking you today —
even if you only have one dollar —
give it.
Because one dollar can feed a child today.
But education can change their tomorrow.
And when you give knowledge,
you are not just saving a life…
you are creating many.
