6 years ago today we bought this boat — a 1968 Evinrude Sportsman 155 with an OMC Buick V6 150.

It wasn’t flashy. It wasn’t fast. It definitely wasn’t perfect. But it became the foundation for some of our family’s best memories.

This was my girls’ first boat.
Their first tube rides.
First sunset cruises.
First time learning how to hold a dock line, wipe down vinyl, hand over tools, and help bring an old boat back to life. ❤️

Since then, we’ve been incredibly blessed to upgrade and experience the comfort, performance, and luxury of newer boats. And trust me… we LOVE them. But this old boat still holds a place in our hearts that no brand new boat ever quite will.

Because this is where it all started.

The truth is, boating isn’t about having the biggest or fanciest setup on the lake. It’s about the memories you make with the people sitting beside you.

Whether it’s your very first project boat or your dream luxury wake boat, I absolutely love helping families get out on the water and into something they’ll build memories in for years to come.

And yes… I still think these old classics are pretty special. 🚤☀️

Getting this beautiful Lund 1650 Rebel XL Sport cleaned up and lake-ready for an early morning delivery to Trout Creek.
Black boats are absolutely gorgeous when they’re clean… but keeping them that way is a labor of love. I’ve been using Outdoor Windex hooked right to the hose for quick wash-downs like this, and honestly it works great for helping keep darker boats water spot free — especially if you dry everything REALLY well afterward with microfiber towels. That final dry is the secret. 👌
Most people only see the shiny finished product at the lake. They don’t always see the evenings, the details, and the effort that go into making sure a boat is perfect before delivery day.
And if you’d rather spend your Sundays relaxing instead of scrubbing water spots… call me 😉

Being a mom is the greatest thing I’ve ever done. ❤️

One of the things I’m most thankful for is working for a company that truly understands family comes first. At Captains Marine, it’s not just something people say — it’s something that’s lived every day.

Even the most seasoned boat owners are guilty of getting the boat fully covered then realizing they left their phone on their right?! That's why designed the racoon door for 2026! This easy access zipper let's you jump in and out with ease after the boat has been covered. I wish it would have been a today as I was getting ready to leave work!

Its delivery day for the Hankinsons at Swan Lake Marina ! Did you know that they have slips to rent?! Not to mention.... you could even rent out the tiki boat featured here!!! They are awesome hosts and great customers. Give them a call for a slip and give me a call for a boat to put in it!

If your boat is still sitting exactly how you left it last fall, now is the time to get ahead of the season.

A few things you should be doing RIGHT NOW:

• Pull it out and give it a full once-over (you’ll thank yourself later)
• Check your battery + connections
• Inspect your trailer tires, bearings, and lights
• Turn the motor over and make sure everything is running smooth
• Restock your safety gear (life jackets, fire extinguisher, etc.)
• Deep clean the interior before the first warm day hits ☀️

OR…

You skip all of it.
