At the end of February Andrew and I went to Ghana to visit City of Refuge Ministry to document their story and their mission. These people and their stories have affected us so deeply and we’re so proud to finally share this video. Andrew has poured his heart and soul into it.

Please consider giving your support to this amazing organization 🙏🏻

Clean drinking water is a PRIVILEGE! 💧🙏🏻

City of Refuge has their own water house that not only provides clean water to the children but also creates income and spreads their message. This organization is trying to be as self sufficient as possible but every donation can tangibly help a child in need in Ghana 🇬🇭

While we’ve been focused on sharing more of the joy post rescue… we can’t not share the reality of the situation in Ghana. Where these children are taken from their families and forced to work upon Lake Volta for no pay with no end in sight. They *might* be provided with one meal a day…. They *might* be provided with clothes. City of Refuge works with the Ghanaian government to rescue these children and give them a normal childhood.

In West Africa, fufu is a MUST! Being able to mill their our corn without going into town and to market is a huge cost and time saver.

Got to experience a thunderstorm in Ghana… like we were gonna pass up the chance to bless the rains down in Africa 😎☔️

“Traffickers exploit children as young as four in forced labour in Lake Volta’s fishing industry and use violence and limited access to food to control victims. Traffickers force boys to work in hazardous conditions, including in deep diving, and girls perform work onshore, such as preparing the fish for markets. Women and girls working in the fishing sector are vulnerable to s*xual abuse and exploitation, including s*x trafficking.”

- United States Trafficking in Persons Report 2023

The Ghanaian government needs real intervention and accountability to work towards actually tackling this issue. It’s not a previous issue, it’s current.
