Hours: Tues-Sat 10:00am to 1:00pm, 2:00pm to 4:30 pm (closed holidays)

Amador County Animal Control and Adoption Center has a goal of reducing pet overpopulation through community education and awareness. Through our partnership with the A-Pal Humane Society several low cost spay/neuter programs are available to members of our community. Our organization investigates reports of violations of Amador County animal ordinances and investigates reports of abuse and neglect of animals in our community.

🐾 Charlie our featured dog this month 🐾

Charlie came to our shelter in horrible shape. Very skinny, hair loss and an awful ear infection. His owners thought the only choice for him was humane euthanasia 💔 but we saw more behind those soulful eyes.

With a trip to the vet, lots of medications and a very slow feeding program, we saw the light come back to Charlie. 🥹

This sweet older gentleman has been looked past for other younger dogs. We are hoping sharing his story will help someone see that he is just as deserving as any other dog.

This Saturday is our California Adopt-A-Pet day. All of our adoption fees are waved thanks to our sponsors California Animal Welfare Association The San Francisco SPCA and ASPCA.

Remember how we have been talking about kitten season?
Well it’s NOW and we are being flooded daily.

Fostering is anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months.

Without the communities help, these tiny kiddos won’t get the care they need!
