Military OutReach & Encouragement-MORE

Military OutReach & Encouragement-MORE We seek to encourage and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with military personnel and their families, as well as deployed civilian contractors.
(1)

Our dual approach to military ministry includes: (1) WARRIOR CARE: We provide encouragement and church referral services to active duty, National Guard, and Reserve personnel in transition status (PCS, TDY, deployed, overseas Wounded Warriors). We strive to share the gospel of Jesus Christ by providing Bibles and free Bible correspondence courses via our Spiritual Power Kits (SPKs). We send cards/email to those deployed to war zones and/or at sea. We specialize in S.E.A.L. (Spiritual Education and Leadership) Training via our online quarterly publication, The Military Messenger. We also help overseas military churches to conduct gospel meetings, special seminars, etc. via Bible teachers and preachers. (2) VETERAN CARE: We provide encouragement and referral services to those who have transitioned or will transition out of the military. We provide Bibles via our Veteran Encouragement Tool (VET) Kits. We also support the annual Operation Stand Down Huntsville, a local community effort to help homeless veterans get off the street and reintegrate back into the community. We plan to reach out to residents in local residential care facilities (i.e. visits, cards/notes of encouragement, volunteers) – i.e. “Battle Buddies” (Vets for Vets). We also are connected with other community organizations to support our veterans and their families. All we strive to do for the Lord's sake and to His glory.

Mission: Spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world and encourage Christians serving in the armed forces.

I’m headed to Tokyo, Japan right now to work with the Yokota church of Christ for six weeks. Then I will be in South Korea to visit our military brethren and speak at a lectureship at Camp Humphreys. Your prayers for this mission/ministry is greatly appreciated!

In 1865, Henry C. Welles, a druggist in the village of Waterloo, NY, mentioned at a social gathering that honor should be shown to the patriotic dead of the Civil War by decorating their graves. In the Spring of 1866, he again mentioned this subject to General John B. Murray, Seneca County Clerk. General Murray embraced the idea and a committee was formulated to plan a day devoted to honoring the dead. Townspeople adopted the idea wholeheartedly. Wreaths, crosses and bouquets were made for each veteran's grave. The village was decorated with flags at half mast and draped with evergreen boughs and mourning black streamers

But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside.

In what would amount to a stunning development, North and South Korea are in discussions to announce at next week’s leaders’ summit an official end to the military conflict between the two neighbors, which remain technically at war.
