Do you use Markup R-XP?
⚠️ Before you update: BACK UP your patterns!
We’re aiming to roll out the new Markup R-XP this weekend. Before you update, there’s one thing I’d like everyone to do: make a backup of your important projects.
The new Markup R-XP is an update to the existing app, not a separate app. Once you update, the old version is replaced and cannot be reinstalled on that device.
Your projects will come across and convert when you first open the new app. Our testers have successfully done this on Android and iPad with real, long-running projects. But safely transferred isn’t the same as backed up, so please take a few minutes to:
1. Open your current Markup R-XP.
2. Export the projects you care about, especially anything you’re currently stitching.
3. Save them off your device; iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.
If everything goes as expected, you’ll never need the backups, but they’re well worth having.
❤️ Please help spread the word: Not every Markup user follows us on social media. If you know another Markup stitcher, please tell them, or share/repost this in your stitching groups and chats.
Not ready to update? No problem: The current app will continue working. If you’re mid-project, you can wait and update when you’re ready.
• Android: Disable auto-update for Markup in the Play Store.
• iPhone/iPad: Apple doesn’t allow this per-app, but you can temporarily disable automatic App Updates in Settings.
A couple of things to expect with the update:
1. Everyone gets a fresh 14-day trial. Existing subscribers can use Restore Purchase, you won’t be charged twice.
2. This is a big update: a new home screen, a completely new way to set up charts, lots of new features, and two-finger stitch marking.
I’ll share more before the update arrives so it all feels familiar. For now: please, please, please BACK UP your important projects and please help spread the word to your fellow stitchers! ❤️ Thanks, James
