Finally got the girls haircuts! They look so cute, and I know they feel so much better in this heat. We are still working on the rig… so here in Texas we stay.

Well, we got our rig back. As you can see the girls are happy to be back in the bed lol. We have had it back for a while, but we ended up having to clean it for over 3 days from the mess they left in it and from it just sitting for so long. Then when we hooked up the water we noticed water pouring out from the bottom of the slide under the bathroom… I know I had emptied the hot water heater, but apparently there must have been some water in the cold water line and when we had that freeze it broke the line. Unfortunately to fix that line we have to tear apart the entire bathroom dual sink and backsplash… so for now the cold water is just turned off. Then we went to take a shower and as soon as we turned the water on the shower head just blew apart. It looks like it had been dropped and just stuck back together, so pretty sure they broke it and just didn’t tell us. They also never addressed the water problems in the lifting tiles in the bedroom and bathroom which was part of our list to the insurance along with mold inspection. I know that wasn’t addressed because our dehumidifier has started showing signs that it is picking up mold in the moisture. I know the put a new underbelly on, but ours is supposed to be insulated, and we have no idea if it was done. They never gave us a statement of work completed. At Least we have our rig back.

Yep… we are STILL in the airstream. We are officially over two months out of our rig when they said it would only take two weeks. Once we pointed out that they only replaced one solar panel and they had to replace the missing one, they realized that “oh, we have to replace them both because this one isn’t made anymore because that company was bought out… blah blah blah”. In the process of this whole thing we told both them and the insurance that the inverter was not working after the panel was tore off the roof by the storm and would need to be replaced. Apparently that little nugget of information went in one ear and out another because they finally called and said that they finally installed the solar panels but the inverter wasn’t working. NOOOOOOO. REALLY??????? Once all the work is finished and we have the rig back I will name the company that has dropped the ball so badly. I don’t want anyone else to have to go through this like we have. The girls miss having room to play.

I know I’ve been quiet lately. It’s been a little tight here in the airstream, but we are surviving. The ice storm hit us pretty hard here and I messed up my knee on the ice so I’ve been trying to take it easy.
We got a call from the place that was doing the repairs that the rig was done. So we went up to go pick it up, started doing the inspection and realized that it was not done. They had not replaced the solar panel. They had not replaced the inverter. They had not worked on any of the delamination, they also had not looked at any of the water pe*******on inside the rig. All they had done was the roof and the underbelly, which is great. The roof looks good, but they hadn’t taken the front cap off at all to check for mold, which is a huge problem because now it’s gonna mess up the work that they did on the roof. Apparently, the guy that started this whole process left the company and didn’t hand this off to anyone else and it just kinda sat in limbo. So now we’re working with somebody new and it’s been a month since they’ve had it. This process was only supposed to take two weeks. And I had asked not to put the skylight back in the bathroom and they did so yeah stuck with the skylight again. I just want this all to be over, and I know the dogs do too. They miss having more room to run around.

Emma is so sad… she was cut from America’s Favorite Pet competition after the third round 🥺. Probably for the best. I can only imagine what fame would have done to her already elevated ego.

It a margarita kinda day!! Yesterday Joel drove to McKinney and back to get the Airstream we are borrowing while our rig goes in for repairs… tomorrow we are moving our rig next to it to move things over and into storage so we can move ours to Ft Worth on Monday… pretty sure by Tuesday will be upgrading to straight tequila….
