y passionate about design, and are committed to providing high-quality products with a unique tropical style. nico made supports local and small businesses and all products are produced in Honolulu, Hawaii. We choose to use high quality, environmentally friendly paper products that are either certified by the Forest Stewardship Council or recycled. All items are hand-assembled and finished in our small in-home studio on the south shore of Oahu.

Here are my Mother’s Day Gift recommendations, as a mom of 3.

Gift idea #1: Tea Towels. They look cute AND do hard work.

Gift idea #2. You ready for it? Tea. Towels. Yes, I’m saying it aging because it’s a no-fail option. Not only do ours look great, they are easy to clean. Just toss in the washer and dryer and you’re good to go.
These are a busy mom’s dream. Trust me.

The north shore small business community also needs our help.

We’ve purchased gift cards from local North Shore businesses, and are excited to gift them to you.

We selected stores from the North Shore that have an online presence so that no driving or travel is necessary (because the roads are a mess right now!)

Over the next week, we will be randomly selecting orders made on our website that will include these gift cards. There’s no order minimum required. Your order can be big or small, it doesn’t matter.

The gift cards are a gift, and completely free to you, and you don’t need to do anything special to get them or use them.

While we know this is small, we hope this gift helps bring you joy, while also supporting the incredible North Shore community.

What am I seeing? Is this real? This can’t be real. Holy sh*t, it’s real. My heart tightens with sadness. Tears stream down my face. I’m at a loss.

I am a descendant of brave, hardworking individuals who immigrated to Hawaii many generations ago, and it saddens me to think of what they would think of the state of our country today.

I’m not on Instagram often, and am horrible about posting regularly, but if we are friends on this platform, I want it to be clear that you’re friends with someone who wholeheartedly condemns the ICE actions in Minnesota, and the hate pulsing through our country.

My studio is a safe place where people from different cultures, genders, and beliefs are welcome. In fact, I think it’s a good thing for us to be friends with those with whom we don’t always agree. It helps open the door to rational and educational conversations. Just don’t bring any hate here. That’s not allowed.

Don’t you wish you could have gardeina in the house all year long? I got this beautiful, fresh bunch (swipe to see) from in the spring, but here I am in the fall, still enjoying one of my favorite flowers (albeit on our newest towel design). Now if I can only figure out a way to make these towels smell like the actual flower 🤔

What ARE tea towels? The short answer is that it’s just a fancy way to say kitchen towels 😉

The main reason we use kitchen towels is to dry dishes, and these do that well, really well. The 100% cotton, lightweight material absorbs the wet stuff efficiently and dries really fast, which is key in our humid environment 💭😶‍🌫️ (no stinky & wet towels here)

Kahala Mall is celebrating its 55th Anniversary! Can you believe it?! So, of course, I was beyond thrilled when they asked me to collaborate on a tote bag design to commemorate this milestone. We explored several design options but decided that there wasn’t anything more iconic than carpet (IYKYK 😉), which served as the inspiration for this floral-infused design.⁠
