The Southern Scale Challenge is a relaxed, family‑friendly RC helicopter gathering where expert pilots from across the country fly incredibly detailed scale‑replica helicopters — and they’re here through the end of the week.

It’s a great outing for homeschool families, aviation‑loving kiddos, and anyone who enjoys seeing something unique up close. Swing by, meet the pilots, and watch these amazing aircraft take to the sky at Heath‑Green Sky Ranch.

The Southern Scale Challenge is back — a week‑long, family‑friendly RC helicopter event right here at the Heath‑Green Sky Ranch in Hinesville!

This annual gathering brings together some of the best scale helicopter pilots in the country. It’s a relaxed “fun‑fly” where hobbyists, national champions, manufacturers, and even retired full‑scale pilots come to showcase incredibly detailed replica helicopters and spend time flying together.

If you’ve never seen scale RC helicopters up close, this is the perfect chance. Bring the family, bring some lawn chairs, enjoy the atmosphere, and check out one of Liberty County’s coolest hidden aviation spots.

This hands-on position includes maintaining the cleanliness of museum galleries and public spaces, assisting with facility upkeep, supporting special events, and helping care for the museum grounds.
