At Strains by Shannon, our focus has never been singular. Our purpose is rooted in honoring our ancestors while championing ourselves, carrying forward legacies of strength, courage, and vision.

Today, we pause to uplift the life and legacy of Assata Shakur, a woman whose words, resilience, and unwavering spirit remain a light for generations:

“I come from a history of women, and I simply wanted to continue that tradition and to try in my little way to make my ancestors proud.” – Assata Shakur

Her story reminds us that we are never walking alone; we are always walking in the footprints of the women who came before us.

🖤💛 Let us move boldly, live authentically, and honor them by carrying forward their vision.

Hey beautiful people‼️ As a cosmetologist, I’ve seen firsthand how a transformation can make someone’s day. But true beauty goes deeper than the skin.🪞

To all the amazing parents and guardians out there, let’s teach our kids that every setback is a stepping stone, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow. 🌱 Encourage them to see the beauty in their struggles and find strength in their pain. It’s through these experiences that they discover who they truly are and unlock their full potential. 💛🖤💛

Life’s journey isn’t always easy, but it’s the tough moments that shape us, build resilience, and reveal our inner light. Let’s support our children in embracing their unique paths to self-discovery and success. Together, we can nurture a generation that finds beauty and strength within. 🌾
