Your race director is out on the last long-run workout of a training block for a 38 mile fundraiser road run for a nonprofit local to Bad Road called Safe Night Ministries.

The heat index is REAL right now - and we can’t emphasize enough just how important it is to learn how much you sweat and in turn how much you need to hydrate. We are still a few months out from race day at Bad Road, but this summer is just starting and it’s trending toward moderate-high heat and high humidity.

Get out and acclimate and learn what works and doesn’t work for you now, so you’re not bonking on race day.

99 Milers - you’ll be so thankful to see the little “S Curve” at Hickory Road… because that means it’s “all downhill from there” 😂

This corner is where the 49’er route merges back into the 99 & 199. It’s likely that some of the front of the pack 99’ers will see some of the mid and back of the pack 49’ers in this area.

So, enjoy the last 10-11 miles this year… there’s little to no doubt, you’ll be ready for that break…

Folks have been asking about lodging… Boy do we have a deal for you! If you book directly through them (not the AirBnB site) the folks at Spring River Stonehouse Inn are going to rent to folks coming into town for our event, for $100/night per room INCLUDING all taxes and fees! This beautiful historic building sits on Main Street right next door to Corner Booth Restaurant and within walking distance of all our weekend festivities.

You’ll likely see this on race day. It’s important that you don’t listen to it, and you keep going until you see the smiling hillbilly guy with cold drinks and bbq waiting to hug you and shake your hand in Hardy. 😎
