Things will start to get dicey this afternoon or early evening. This is our 142nd storm scare this year and by now you know the drill: Trash cans, gas, patio furniture, storm debris and check on the elderly. And new for 2020-clear your curbs and storm drains. Don't turn your home into a flood zone.

When you check all of those off your list, settle in for a rough night at home. Do not go wandering around in your car unless it is an emergency. The Red Box is not an emergency. Peanut Butter Oreos are not this kind of emergency.

The pic down there indicates that we could be in store for a "few" tornadoes. That's more than a couple, but less than several. Thanks for avoiding the scientific jargon, U.S. National Weather Service (NWS). Do not go looking out the window to see if there is a freight train in your yard. There's not.
