Had a great first experience getting fresh pods from Bhut & Barrel Pepper Co. The whole process was smooth from start to finish—good communication, peppers arrived looking great, and the variety/quality was exactly what I was hoping for.

Instead of rushing to use everything immediately, I processed and dehydrated the pods low and slow, preserving them for future batches of pepper flakes, powders, blends, and some recipes I’ve already got brewing in my head. 👀

There’s something different about starting with whole, fresh specialty peppers and controlling the process yourself from there. You get to see the color, texture, aroma, and character of each cultivar before deciding where it belongs. Some of these pods were absolutely vicious. 😂🔥

Big shoutout to Bhut & Barrel Pepper Co. for making the fresh-pod experience easy. This definitely won’t be my last box.

For ThePepperPlug, this is just another piece of the process:

🌶️ Source quality peppers
🔪 Process them by hand
🔥 Preserve the flavor
🧪 Experiment with recipes
🔌 Build something worth plugging

A lot more coming from these. Stay plugged. 🌶️🔌

🌶️ THE BIG CHOP ✂️

Sometimes growing more means being willing to cut back—a lot.

These plants had gotten completely overgrown, crowded, and difficult to manage, so I made the decision to strip em back to the framework and basically hit the reset button.
It looked brutal at first. 😂 But now those bare stems are already waking back up with fresh shoots breaking from nodes all over the plant.

The goal wasn’t just aesthetics:
🌱 Better airflow
☀️ Better light pe*******on
🌶️ A more manageable canopy
💪 Stronger new branching
🔥 And hopefully an even better next round of peppers

Now we see how hard they rebound!

The big chop was only Chapter 1. Next chapter is going to really upgrade the grow, stay tuned 🤙🏾

🌶️ HOMEGROWN MONSTER ALERT 🌶️

First taste test of my indoor-grown Jay's Red Ghost Scorpion and this thing did NOT disappoint.

🔥 Flavor hit first — fruity, floral, and surprisingly sweet for about 30 seconds.

☠️ Then the pain train arrived.

The heat built fast and stayed locked in for a solid 20+ minutes. Mouth, tongue, throat... everything was lit up.
For those wondering, these peppers are generally estimated around 800,000–1,500,000+ Scoville Heat Units (SHU), putting them in the same league as Ghost Peppers and some Scorpion varieties.

The crazy part? These came from my indoor grow tent! Months of pruning, feeding, dialing in pH, and waiting for ripening finally paid off.

Would you take a full bite? 👇🌶️

🌶️🔥 JPGR POD REVIEW COMING SOON 🔥🌶️
The second ripe pod of the season just came off the plant.
This Jay's Peach Ghost Red has been hanging in the tent while the plants have been absolutely exploding with flowers and new pod sets. The color, texture, and size on this one turned out better than I expected.
The real question is...

💀 How hot is it? 🍑 Is there any peach flavor left? 🔥 Is it sauce-worthy or face-melting punishment?
I'll be cutting into this pod and doing a full taste test soon.

Drop your heat prediction below: 🌶️ = Hot 🌶️🌶️ = Very Hot 🌶️🌶️🌶️ = Regret

The tent is officially entering production mode. 🌶️🔥

Just wrapped up a 1-week PK 13/14 cycle and the response has been wild. Every plant in the tent has exploded with flowers, new pod set is showing up everywhere, and the first JPGR pods are finishing up.

Today's feed: • pH 5.6 • 855 ppm • Silica + CalMag + Canna Coco A&B

Environment: • 77–79°F • 49–57% RH • VPD 1.3–1.5

The canopy is completely packed, airflow is holding, and the next few weeks should tell the story. If even a fraction of these flowers set, harvest season is about to get interesting.

Swipe for canopy shots and the first ripe JPGRs. 🌶️
