In Michigan, cyclists are required to equip their bikes with a white front light and a red rear reflector… though we recommend a red light as well!

These regulations are especially required when riding at night. Proper lighting is crucial for safety, especially in the dark when crash-related fatalities are most likely to occur.

Hey GR, you might have noticed that our daylight hours are changing 😅
👁️ Visibility decreases this time of year, but people are still out and about.
🚶‍♀️Most pedestrian crash fatalities occur at dusk and dawn, when visibility is low and many folks are commuting.
🤝 As we adjust to the change in natural light, be mindful of your surroundings and look out for your community! 🚗 🏃‍♀️ 🚴‍♀️ 🛴 🚌

Deer are most active from April - June & October - December at dusk and dawn. Risk of hitting a deer while driving increases during these times.

Watch out for deer!

⚠️ Notice where deer crossing signs are posted.
👀 Scan the roadside and shoulder while driving, especially the edge of the woods, fields, and near water, where deer often feed.
🦌 Deer tend to follow one another in single file, so if you see one, there are likely more.
🟡 Slow down. Be prepared to stop if deer are near the road.
🌝 Stay alert, awake, aware, and sober, and drive at safe speeds.
