We're jumping for joy! Garfield County Outdoors is stoked to have been awarded another 5 years of funding from and ! This critical funding will ensure that we can continue to provide meaningful outdoor experiences that encourage growth and confidence from the backyard to the backcountry for youth and families in western Garfield County!

Over the next five years, GOCO funding will help us continue to bring outdoor learning into the school day, while pushing our programming out into the community and creating even more opportunities for career pathways. Stay tuned for our next adventures!

We’ve been busy taking trips to local ski areas, where students have been learning to ski and snowboard — building confidence, new skills, and a love for winter along the way. From first turns to smooth runs, they’re embracing the challenge and having a blast in the snow!

Come join us tomorrow for Garfield County Water Day! We’ll be down at the River Stop and Lions Pond in Rifle along with some amazing partners from 10am-2pm. There will be lots of family-fun activities including fishing; building a rain stick with Rifle Library; learn about animal tracks and pelts with CPW and get first hand information about the zebra mussels found in the Colorado River by Cameo; stream table activities in the River Stop; and a scavenger hunt around Lion’s Pond. See you there!
