We get asked this all the time!

The truth is... it depends.

✅ Pre-Booking Benefits:
• Peace of mind before you travel
• Guaranteed availability
• No stress once you arrive
• Great for popular beach clubs and limited-capacity tours

✅ Booking in Port Benefits:
• Sometimes lower prices
• More flexibility
• Ability to adjust plans based on weather

However, there are risks to waiting. Popular excursions can sell out, and not every operator offers the same quality, safety standards, or reliability.

Our recommendation? Research ahead of time and book with reputable providers whenever possible. Saving a few dollars isn't worth risking your vacation experience.

🏍️🔥 One of the Most Unique Days We've Ever Had in Cozumel 🔥🏍️

If you're looking for an excursion that's completely different from the typical beach day, this might be it.

During one of our visits to Cozumel, we spent the day at a private ranch with a local friend and experienced a side of the island that many visitors never get to see.

The adventure started with ATV rides through the ranch and surrounding trails, taking in the natural beauty of Cozumel away from the cruise crowds. 🌴🏍️

But the highlight of the day might have been lunch.

Our amigo prepared an incredible meal over an open flame while we relaxed and enjoyed the ranch atmosphere. Fresh fajita tacos, homemade salsa, guacamole, ice-cold margaritas, and authentic local flavors made this meal one we'll never forget. 🌮🥑🍹

It wasn't rushed.
It wasn't crowded.
It wasn't a typical tourist excursion.
It was authentic, relaxing, adventurous, and exactly the kind of experience that makes travel so special.

Sometimes the best memories aren't made at the most famous attractions—they're made with great people, great food, and experiences you can't find just anywhere.

🏝️🍹 You Don't Need an Excursion to Enjoy Cozumel 🍹🏝️

Sometimes the best day is simply exploring at your own pace.

Take a stroll through downtown Cozumel and enjoy local shops, waterfront views, authentic Mexican food, and island culture.

One of our favorite ways to spend the day is combining downtown exploration with a visit to Chankanaab.

Why we love Chankanaab:
🐠 Fantastic snorkeling
🌴 Beautiful scenery
📸 Great photo opportunities
🦎 Wildlife and nature experiences
💦 Easy access from the cruise port

One honest tip: While the snorkeling and atmosphere are fantastic, the food and beverage options aren't our favorite on the island. We usually focus on enjoying the park and then grab a great meal elsewhere afterward.

Sometimes the simplest days become the most memorable.

Many cruise guests never leave the beach areas—but some of Cozumel's best adventures happen away from the shoreline!

Imagine exploring the island by Jeep or buggy while visiting:

🪨 Jade Cavern and cenote areas filled with natural beauty

One of our favorite parts of the island is the "wild side," where you'll find fewer crowds, breathtaking views, and a completely different feel than the busy cruise port areas.

🎣🌴 Our Favorite Cozumel Experience Yet! 🌴🎣

When people ask us about our favorite excursion in Cozumel, this one is hard to beat.
During our recent visit, we spent the day with a local friend who created a completely custom experience for us. We started the morning fishing in the beautiful Caribbean waters, followed by snorkeling some incredible spots around the island. 🐠🌊

From there, we headed to Passion Island, where the crowds disappeared and the relaxation began. While we enjoyed the crystal-clear water and island views, our friend prepared an amazing fresh lunch right on the boat.

The menu? Freshly caught fish, scallop ceviche, homemade guacamole, pico de gallo, fresh fruit, cheese quesadillas, drinks, and more than we could possibly eat! 🍹🐟🥑

It wasn't a cruise line excursion. It wasn't a tourist attraction. It was an authentic day with a local who loves sharing his island with visitors.

These are the experiences that turn a great vacation into unforgettable memories.

This week, we're highlighting one of our favorite cruise ports in the Caribbean—Cozumel, Mexico! 🇲🇽🚢

There’s a reason so many cruisers look forward to a stop in Cozumel. From stunning turquoise waters and beautiful beaches to amazing local food, shopping, and unforgettable adventures, this island offers something for every type of traveler.

But what makes Cozumel extra special for us are the connections we've made over the years. During our most recent visit, we spent the day with a dear local friend who showed us a side of Cozumel that many visitors never get to experience.
