Gel coat repair on the gunwale area of this customer’s boat turned out awesome — you can’t even tell the damage was ever there.

Repairs like this take more than just filling scratches with gel coat and sanding them smooth. To properly repair deep scratches and gouges, each damaged area has to be carefully opened up and feathered out so the new gel coat can fully fill the damaged sections and blend correctly into the existing surface.

Skipping that process may still seal the area from moisture, but most of the time you’ll still see shadowing or dark spots from the fiberglass underneath. Taking the extra time to do it the right way is what gives a clean, factory-style finish that blends seamlessly with the original gel coat.

Really happy with how this one came out.

⚠️⚠️This photo may look bland and boring, but it shows a hidden issue that can lead to major problems if overlooked during routine maintenance.

What you’re looking at is an impeller housing cup. Inside this housing sits a rubber impeller that pulls water into your motor to keep it cool. The problem? Take a close look at all the tiny grooves and scoring inside the metal cup. That surface should be completely smooth.

Most people wouldn’t think a rubber impeller could wear down metal—but technically, it’s not the rubber doing the damage. Sand, small rocks, debris, and other particles from the water get sucked into the housing and circulated inside over time. That constant grinding creates grooves in the housing, preventing the impeller from sealing properly and reducing its ability to create the suction needed to cool your engine efficiently.

This is exactly why routine impeller and thermostat maintenance is so important.

As a general rule, we recommend impeller and thermostat service every 200 hours or every 2 years. Of course, those intervals can vary depending on the type of water you run in and overall operating conditions.

One piece of advice we always give:
If you just bought a boat and don’t have documented proof showing when the impeller and thermostats were last serviced — do it before running the boat.

It’s cheap insurance and great peace of mind. 👊🚤

Plastic center console boats — often referred to as “poly boats” — are primarily constructed from High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). While this material is extremely durable, it’s also relatively soft compared to traditional fiberglass, which can make repairs difficult once holes, gouges, or other damage occur.

This particular boat came in with topside rail damage caused by a duck blind that had ripped loose during travel. Since repair options for HDPE are somewhat limited, we decided to take a custom approach.

Using sheets of HDPE in our CNC router, we designed and cut custom patterns sized specifically to cover and reinforce the damaged areas. We then prepped and roughed up the surface, sealed everything with marine adhesive, and installed the freshly cut panels over the damaged sections.

Another fun and unique project that we’re extremely happy with — and more importantly, the customer was thrilled with the outcome as well. 👊🚤

Have a similar issue with your boat or jet ski? Or maybe you’re looking to upgrade some custom accents like:
• Gauge bezels
• Fish rulers
• Speaker bezels
• Fish finder bezels
• Custom trim pieces
• Or other stock/custom accents

Send us a message with what you have or what you’re looking for, and we’ll be happy to see how we can help bring your ideas to life.

Here are some before-and-after photos of hull damage repair we recently completed on a Skeeter bass boat. Repairs like these can look simple at first glance, but factors like damage severity, location, gel coat flake matching, humidity, and proper drying times can quickly turn an “easy fix” into a detailed project.

Hull and gel coat repairs require patience, precision, and attention to detail to get the finish right—and we’re extremely happy with how this one turned out. More importantly, so was the customer.

Swipe through to check out the transformation! 👊🎣

2022 Mercury Pro XS 250

Serial number and model number are shown in the last photo on the motor tag.

Sale includes exactly what is shown in the photos. Does NOT include:

* Propeller
* Forward controls
* Control cables

Very clean motor overall aside from the issue listed below.

Selling AS-IS for parts or repair. The motor is free and not locked up, but it does not currently start. It was inspected by another shop and determined to have a compression-related issue. It could be something as simple as piston rings in one cylinder, but the previous owner chose not to proceed with teardown and diagnostics and instead replaced it with a 2025 model.

Motor has very low hours — approximately 100 hours.

This would make an excellent repair project for someone willing to put the time into diagnosing and rebuilding it, or a great parts motor. There are a TON of valuable, clean parts on this engine. The lower unit alone sells for around $8,000 used, not including the ECU/computer systems, fuel system components, electronics, and other hardware.

I am brokering this sale for a customer. He is not interested in parting it out and wants to sell the motor complete in one transaction.

Serious inquiries only. Messages asking “Is this available?” will not receive a response.
