Good morning from St. Joseph! ☀️🌊

Every summer, my kids and I head back to our hometown to spend time with family and soak up all the things that make a Michigan summer so special. From beach days and sunsets over Lake Michigan to ice cream runs and family parties, it's a trip we look forward to all year long.

One of my favorite parts of summer is spending time at either Lions Beach or Silver Beach. There's just something about watching the kids play in the sand, the lighthouse in the background, and seagulls flying all around. 💙

Do you have a favorite beach you visit during the summer months? ⛱️☀️🌊

Disney Long Weekend – Day 3 ✨🌐🏰

When you're staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, there’s really only one way to start the morning: Mickey Churro Waffles from Spyglass Grill! 😍 After packing up our room, we mobile ordered churro waffles and iced coffees and headed over to the Trinidad section to enjoy breakfast before one last Disney day.

We decided to start at EPCOT, so we hopped aboard the Skyliner and made our way to the International Gateway. We stopped in Japan for a Violet Sake, checked out a few Flower & Garden Festival booths, then made our way to the Mexico Pavilion for Gran Fiesta Tour (always a favorite with our kids!). We admired the beautiful topiaries throughout the park and let the kids burn off some energy at Camp Get Out 'N' Play before taking a stroll through Creations Shop. After a quick lunch at Connections Eatery, we wrapped up our EPCOT adventure by thanking the Phoenicians on Spaceship Earth. 🌐

From there, it was off to Magic Kingdom via the Monorail! The wait times were incredible. We waited just 10 minutes for Pirates of the Caribbean, 20 minutes for Haunted Mansion, and practically walked right onto It's a Small World. We cooled off with a treat from Sunshine Tree Terrace before heading to Tomorrowland for Carousel of Progress. We wanted to experience it one more time before its upcoming refurbishment this summer. A ride on the PeopleMover is always a must for our family, and after dinner at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café, it was time to head back to the bus station, return to our car, and make the drive home.

It was such a fun long weekend—hot, busy, and full of memories. Between pool time, Skyliner rides, character sightings, great food, and plenty of Disney magic, this was exactly the kind of getaway our family needed. ❤️✨

Disney Long Weekend – Day 2: Hollywood Studios! 🎬✨

The morning started with some Cool Kids Summer fun back at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort! The lobby was full of music, dancing, and special appearances from Daisy, Mickey, and Minnie. The kids had an absolute blast—and of course, no Disney morning is complete without Mickey waffles for breakfast. 🧇✨

With the extreme heat and two kiddos in tow, we decided to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass for our Hollywood Studios day—and it was absolutely worth it. 🙌

We hopped on the Skyliner and made our way to Hollywood Studios late morning, starting with Alien Swirling Saucers in Toy Story Land before heading over to Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway.

One of the biggest surprises of the day was how many characters we saw! We caught The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, then explored Animation Courtyard where we spotted Rapunzel, Mulan, Donald, Chip, and Goofy roaming around. We also checked out Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live, which was a huge hit. If your kids grew up on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (and you still know the Hot Dog Song by heart 🙋‍♀️), this show is a must-do!

Lunch was at Roundup Rodeo BBQ. I had been before, but it was a first visit for the rest of our group. The kids thought freezing when Andy was coming was the funniest thing ever, loved spotting all the hidden Mickeys, and definitely took advantage of the bottomless mac & cheese. 😂 Our server, Grayson, was fantastic and spent time joking around with the kids, which made the experience even more memorable.

After lunch, we took some time to walk through One Man's Dream—and if you've never done it during a Hollywood Studios day, you absolutely should. This walkthrough attraction tells the story of Walt Disney's life and the incredible ideas that became the parks, movies, and experiences we know today. It's fascinating, nostalgic, and one of the most underrated attractions in the park. Plus, it's a perfect place to escape the Florida heat for a little while. ❄️✨

After that, we planned to catch the Villains show, but unfortunately it was experiencing technical difficulties and ended up being down for the afternoon. We still stopped for a few photos—especially since my mom is a big Maleficent fan!

By then, the heat was definitely catching up to all of us, so we decided not to push it. We hopped back on the Skyliner, cooled off in the room for a bit, let the kids burn off some energy at the playground, grabbed pizza & Mickey Sundae's from Centertown Market, watched Disney Bedtime Stories, and wrapped up the evening watching the EPCOT fireworks from the resort as we walked back to our room.

Hollywood Studios may be known for thrills and big attractions, but this day was a reminder that there is so much more to enjoy—from shows and characters to hidden gems like One Man's Dream and simply taking time to soak it all in. 💙✨

Long Weekend at Disney – Day 1 ☀️🏝️

We checked into Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort late this morning and headed straight for the pool before our room was even ready. Because honestly... why waste a beautiful Disney day? 😎

Lunch was from Centertown Market with chicken strips and burgers enjoyed poolside, and the food definitely hit the spot after a morning of travel.

Can we talk about the Fuentes del Morro pool for a second? The water was absolutely perfect, and the views of Barefoot Bay and the Disney Skyliner gliding overhead are just hard to beat. It truly feels like a little tropical escape right in the middle of Walt Disney World.

When our room assignment came through, we were placed in Building 51 in the Aruba section—and I don't think we could have picked a better location ourselves! We're right across from the playground and just a short walk to the main lobby, dining, and Skyliner.

So far, this stay is off to a pretty magical start. ✨️

Checking in at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort for a long weekend! ☀️🌴

I’ll be out of the office through Monday, June 2nd as we enjoy some resort time, soak up the magic in the parks, and take a little break as a family.

We’re kicking things off tonight with Banana Ball at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and I can't wait to see what all the hype is about! ⚾🍌

I’ll still respond to urgent messages as I’m able, but replies may be a little slower than usual while I’m away.

In the meantime, be sure to follow along for resort updates, park fun, and a peek at everything Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort has to offer!

Have a magical weekend! ✨🏝️💙
