Let’s do this more!

Today, on what would have been Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s 96th birthday, we celebrate the life of a man whose vision and courage transformed the world. His unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and nonviolence inspires generations to dream of a better tomorrow.

Dr. Maya Angelou shared a deep bond with Dr. King, serving as the Northern Coordinator for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) in the 1960s. Their shared mission for civil rights shaped her activism and art. She once said:
“He was not only a leader but a friend, and his life taught me the strength of love and hope.”

On this special day, reflect on Dr. King’s message:
“The time is always right to do what is right.”
Let’s commit to embodying his legacy through service, kindness, and action.

Praying for them❤️🙏🏾

✨🌳 Our hearts are heavy as California confronts devastating wildfires, with the reported death toll of up to 24 lives at this time as first responders continue their courageous efforts. In these challenging times, we find strength in the words of Dr. Maya Angelou:

"Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I rise."
– Dr. Maya Angelou, Still I Rise

As California faces this crisis, let us also remember the communities impacted by other recent disasters, such as Hurricane Helene in the Southeast, Hurricane Beryl in Florida, and the tornadoes that swept across Texas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois, leaving destruction and loss in their wakes. Rebuilding from these disasters is expected to take years.

🚒 To the firefighters and first responders on the front lines: Your bravery and dedication inspire us all. Thank you for your selfless service.

Read this again my people!

Dr. Maya Angelou believed that true accomplishment comes from pursuing what you love and using your talents to make a difference. She once said:
“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.”

This wisdom reminds us that our passions can be a powerful force for good. By excelling in what we love, we find fulfillment and inspire and uplift others. Acts of service are one way to implement this philosophy—sharing our time, talents, and resources to create positive change in our communities.

Join us for the in honor of Dr. Maya Angelou’s legacy of activism and giving back:
