A calm beachfront escape in Dubai, with a few details that make it stand out.
During my recent visit, I had a look at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai, and three things really stood out to me.
01 | A memorable first impression
The lobby’s illuminated crystal-tree installation feels like stepping into a work of art. It’s a striking feature that creates a memorable arrival without feeling over the top.
02 | The best of both worlds
Low-rise architecture, lush gardens and direct beach access create a peaceful, resort-like atmosphere. Yet, the hotel is still conveniently located for exploring Downtown Dubai, without being as far out as many beachfront properties around Palm Jumeirah.
03 | A special dining experience
Tasca by José Avillez, the hotel’s Michelin-starred Portuguese restaurant, combines contemporary cuisine with an infinity-pool setting and views across the Arabian Gulf. A particularly memorable spot for a meal with a view.
