Frontier's JFK experiment is officially over — after just a little over two years.

The ultra-low-cost carrier has confirmed it will completely pull out of New York JFK on October 5.

Frontier launched service there in June 2024 and, at one point, flew to eight nonstop destinations from the airport. It had even announced plans to move into the new Terminal 6.

Now, all of that is gone.

Frontier had already slashed most of its JFK flying earlier this year, leaving only one daily route to Atlanta.

That final route disappears next month too.

The airline's own explanation is blunt: "We periodically review and update routes based on market demand, seasonality, costs associated with operating from a particular airport, and other factors."

Translation: JFK was too expensive for a carrier built around rock-bottom fares.

The good news for New Yorkers — Frontier isn't leaving the city entirely.

It'll still fly from LaGuardia and Newark. And the airline isn't ruling out a comeback to JFK someday.

But for now, after just two years, Frontier is walking away from one of America's biggest airports.
