Wow, it’s been a warm start to October! What happened to fall? Fishing sure has slowed down for me with this weather. Smallies are still going strong but the walleyes are really finicky. Slowing down with minnow type baits like a 3 inch scented jerkshadz or a streakz in the 3.75 has got a few to chew. Hang in there, fall will be back. Tight lines 🎣

Fun weekend chasing some river fish. It was all smallmouth for me. A Zman slim swimz got the job done! Can’t beat October fishing. Tight lines 🎣 Z-Man Fishing Products

That’s a wrap on September! It was a good start to the fall bite. Walleyes, smallmouth, and pike are always fun this time of year. Bite will continue to get better as the water continues to cool and more fish are on the move. It’s a been a variety of baits from Zman getting the job done. Best month of the year is upon us. Thats a wrap on the 2026 guide season and year 15 of guiding. Probably one of my best when it comes to the numbers of bass and pike clients reeled in. The bite was a little tougher in September but clients fought the conditions and caught fish. Those Z-Man Fishing Products helped clients catch there 1st ever fish to their personal best. Great baits anytime of the year. Want to give Gregg at Schroeders Guiding Service a shout for keeping me busy this year. Look us up for your ice fishing needs. For me it’s walleyes and smallies until the ice hits. Tight lines 🎣

Finally some cooler weather and rain! Here’s what we have been finding over the first first half of September. Water on many rivers continues to be extremely low. With that said we’ve been finding walleyes near current and in some deeper water. Deeper water could be just a small hole a few feet deeper than the water all around it. Fish have been a little picky as well. Sometimes they will just bump the bait which means throw something else at them. When you find the right bait they’ve been hitting it hard! Haven’t found groups of fish in any area. Just a few fish here and there. Lots of moving and covering lots of water. A few baits that have got fish to eat has been a GrubZ and a Slim SwimZ from Z-Man Fishing Products. With the water starting to cool fall fishing should take off. It’s the best time of year! Football season is here and I have been finding some smallies. They’ve been chomping a Streakz Curly TailZ on a finesse Eyez jig. Just love this time of year! Tight lines 🎣
