๐Ÿšฒ 18 rides across the state

None of this happens without the people behind it. A huge thank-you to our riders, ride leaders, & volunteers, who gave their time, energy, and support. Weโ€™re already dreaming about next year. Until then, keep riding, keep exploring, and keep connecting.

Connecting with bike friends - some old and some new - at the 2026 Little Grassy Get Down ๐Ÿช•๐ŸŽค๐Ÿค

Ride Illinois was pleased to offer a variety of casual group rides over two delightful days in southern Illinois. We enjoyed the mountain bike trails and some gravel roads at Touch of Nature during the day. Then we tapped our toes and stomped our feet to bluegrass music at night ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚โ˜€๏ธ

We had plenty of opportunities to chat with adults and children about our mission, the need to invest in Illinois trails, and the many benefits of biking. What a great way to spend the weekend! โ˜ฎ๏ธ

Much appreciation for Touch of Nature staff and our awesome volunteers: Brice, Bella, Anne, and Linda ๐Ÿ˜Š

See you again next October!

Our BikeSafetyQuiz Mini-Grant program continues to reach lots of students in Illinois schools! Since 2018, more than 412,000 quizzes have been completed through this popular program ๐Ÿคฉ

Nearly 200 schools in all corners of Illinois participated during the last school year by assigning our NEW Child Bicyclist, Adult Bicyclist, or Motorist quizzes. Participation at individual schools ranged from 7 students to 2,026 students. Schools that applied for a Mini-Grant and assigned a quiz received $2 per student (up to $2,000) as compensation for the time and effort required to administer the quiz. 450 schools have participated since 2018 ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

๐Ÿ‘‰ The success of the BSQ Mini-Grant program can be attributed to the teachers, administrators, parents, and advocates who value safety for students who ride bicycles, plus driverโ€™s ed students who are learning to drive safely near people outside of motor vehicles ๐Ÿ‘ˆ

The application for the 2026-2027 BSQ Mini-Grant program is available now at the link in the comments. Thanks to generous funding from the Illinois Department of Transportation, weโ€™re hoping to eclipse 70,000 completed quizzes this school year! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›
