My handmade watercolor sketchbooks can currently be found in the Museum of Science and Industry gift shop, as part of a special display for the new Crafting Character Exhibit, featuring costumes from Wicked, Hamilton and more. (Middle shelf on the right in the photo!)

When I left my teaching career ten years ago to be a full time artist and bookbinder, it was truly a leap of faith. (But as someone told me lately, everyone deserves the chance to fly! 😉) I’ve worked really hard this past decade doing this as my full time job, but even so, sometimes I can hardly believe just how far I’ve come. Having my work in the gift shop of another prestigious museum in Chicago is more than I ever could have dreamed. I’m beyond thrilled and honored to be included in the museum gift shop for this exhibit and I hope my local Chicago area friends and followers have a chance to check it out in person.

* The Paul Tazewell exhibit runs through Sept 7 2026, and is included in general admission to the museum.*

Kicking off the holiday season at the Crystal Lake South HS Christmas Craft show tomorrow (830 am-4!) and it’s definitely got me ready for all things Christmas already. Is it too early to start making Christmas cookies? Asking for a friend… 😜.
