Okay, Royal Caribbean… I see you. 👀🎨

One of the things that caught my attention on Utopia of the Seas wasn't just the restaurants, pools, entertainment or beautiful ocean views.

It was the ART.

I kept running into these gorgeous pieces featuring Black women, Caribbean-inspired imagery, bold textures, shells, tropical botanicals and some seriously beautiful faces.

Because sometimes it's the little details that make a space feel like an EXPERIENCE instead of just a place you're staying.

And now I'm curious…

The luggage question:

Be honest.
How many days does your vacation need to be before you check a bag?
3 days → Carry-on only
5 days → “Maybe I can make it work”
7 days → Checked bag
10+ days → Somebody is bringing an extra suitcase 😂

Personally I've done a 10 day with a carry on and personal bag but I always bring a packable duffle just in case I have to check a bag on the way home 😅

Cruise Dining — Main Dining Room vs. Buffet vs. Specialty

Top of my list when travelling are food and drinks!

On my recent Utopia of the Seas sailing, I spent most of my dining time in the Main Dining Room and definitely hit the Windjammer buffet especially on embarkation day.

And let's just say… when I saw those lobster tails, apparently my camera became an afterthought. 😂🦞

🍽️ Main Dining Room

This was my go-to for dinner. Sit down, relax, multiple courses and a more traditional restaurant experience and it's all included with the cruise fare.

🍤 Windjammer

Perfect when you want variety, flexibility and food without sitting through a full meal service.

And on embarkation day? I'm going straight to the seafood buffet!

🥂 Specialty Dining

I didn't dine at the specialty restaurants on this particular sailing, so I'm not going to give you a fake review.

But if you're celebrating something, planning a date night or simply want to make your cruise feel a little more elevated, specialty dining is where I'd consider spending the extra money.

The beauty of cruising is that you can make the experience fit your travel style and your budget.

TRAVEL AGENT PSA: THIS IS WHY I TELL Y’ALL TO FLY IN THE DAY BEFORE! ✈️🚢

And today, I get to be the client. 😩

My flight from Detroit to Orlando was originally scheduled for 8:40 AM. Now? 12:00 PM departure. 2:32 PM arrival. And yes… I’m supposed to be on a cruise tomorrow.

Thankfully, this is not my cruise embarkation day, so I can laugh about it. But let’s play a little game of “What If?”

If this flight were today, I’d be looking at:

🚢 All aboard: 3:00 PM
✈️ New arrival: 2:32 PM
🚗 Port from MCO: roughly 45 minutes with NO traffic
😬 Actual time to get from plane → baggage → transportation → port: Girl, please.

Translation: That ship would be sailing without me.

And THIS is exactly why I stress to my clients:

When you’re cruising, especially when the cruise is an important vacation or international trip, fly in the day before whenever possible.

Flights get delayed. Flights get canceled. Weather happens. Mechanical issues happen. Crew issues happen. And sometimes the airline just wakes up and chooses violence. 😂

That extra hotel night may feel like an unnecessary expense when you’re booking the trip… until the alternative is watching your cruise ship pull away from the port.

Today, I’m grateful this delay is simply an inconvenience and not a vacation disaster. And to be honest it's not an inconvenience cause i get to stay in bed longer🙌🏾
