Hello riders. Central Iowa Victory Riders is a part of the larger National Club, The Victory Motorcycle Club, known as the VMC. The national club is having it's election of officers.
If you are currently a member of the VMC, I urge you to go to the website and vote.
I am endorsing Clay Mark Christian for VMC President. He was instrumental in organizing the Midwest Victory Rally at The Vic Shop this summer. Go to the website, www.thevmc.com, and check out the Stump section.
If you are not a member, consider signing up as a guest and checking the site out.

If any member is having problems logging on to the site, please reset your password or email the webmaster at [email protected]

Please register and come out to the party.

The Vic Shop is an independent, Victory Motorcycle enthusiast shop in Minburn Iowa. I can do anything to your Victory motorcycle: performance, maintenance, or repairs. Our primary focus is a performance shop, but we work on making any Victory BETTER!

I grew up in a pretty small town, but still manage to bump into folks from the same town no matter how far the journeys have taken me.

Near the tail of the dragon in Tennessee, there is a tiny convenience store/thrift shop/restaurant. I stopped in for some pancakes before setting out on the day's ride. A guy sitting across asked if I had the bike with Iowa plates. Sure enough, he was born in the same county hospital as me.

On another trip to San Francisco, we were waiting for a table at a nice Italian place. A couple was seated just outside having some drinks while waiting. Small talk about where we were from developed into the discovery of a common link - the woman has family just a few miles away from us. They visit every year.

How is this related to Victory? In a massive sea of motorcycles, we will always find our small community being represented. Just this week, I met two Victory riders through buying and selling items on FB marketplace - neither item had anything to do with Victory...

The cliche rings true - It's a small world. When this pesky white stuff stops falling from the sky, we will have to get a meeting together. Symptoms of Parked Motorcycle Syndrome are becoming quite apparent.

We now have an official phone number and the capability to send out group texts. If you want to be on this list, send your name via text message to (515) 442-5910. This will be used sparingly for notifications. You won't receive daily messages or unwanted advertising - just a quick text to let you know when/where a group ride or meeting will be happening. It is not automated, so don't expect immediate verification.

You may also send us an email (that's new as well!) - [email protected]

A big thanks to everyone who was able to meet up today. This was the best attended event in a long time (maybe ever). There was some talk today about trying to get things on track with regular rides and meetings. For the last year or so, the majority of meetings and rides have been the Paul and Aaron show featuring Bob on occasion.

We are looking for volunteers who would like to help in the planning and ex*****on of meetings/rides/whatever. As in the business world, it's hard to find good help! Some of us are new parents, work weekends, care for family members, or just are not around enough to make the group what it should be.

This organization is very important now more than ever with the phase out of Victory. We have to become our own support network. Whether than means sharing parts sources or offering a helping hand, it is paramount that we stay active and communicate.

I wanted to share one thing from today - The last group of bikes that pulled in behind us were eyeing ours and making remarks about how many victorys were there. For once we outnumbered the other American model and I heard only positive comments. Such a shame the powers that be couldn't see a future with Victory. We were really starting to gain some steam!

Thanks again to everyone who showed today. Maybe next time it won't be so tropical...

Our annual Ride to the Rock is now scheduled for Sunday, May 27. This had been a Victory Motorcycle Club tradition for several years, involving several local VMC chapters throughout the Midwest. Exact details to follow.

Hope you got a chance to see the 2017 version because it's about to look a lot different... Hope to be done (like always) by Memorial Weekend 🇺🇸
