CAME A LONG WAY THE HARD WAY

I went in and out of the system at a young age and spent much of my adulthood incarcerated. I’ve battled addiction, poor decisions, loss, and instability. I’ve lost both of my parents, friends I cared about, and fought through a criminal and addictive mindset that once controlled my life.

The biggest reason I changed direction was my kids.

Today, I appreciate the little things. I didn’t build this life alone. God placed the right people, opportunities, and mindset in my path. Through every setback, mistake, and downfall, I stayed resilient and kept showing up.

One thing I’ve learned: social media only shows the highlights. Sometimes I post my best picture while fighting battles nobody sees. The truth is, none of us have it all figured out.

Be comfortable in adversity. Keep showing up. Keep working. Stay true to yourself. Love people. Take care of your family. Don’t compare your journey to someone else’s.

If you’re still standing and still pushing forward, you’re already winning.
