Just a old post for our new members. Will share more everyday to see how we service your E-TEC injectors.
Before we discuss the process, we will introduce you to the tools that used in the service process. The main unit is the ASNU Classic GDI. What is GDI? GDI is the abbreviation for gasoline direct injection, a process where fuel is directed directly into the combustion chamber.
There are many variations of this process depending on the mfg of the system. We only focus on the BRP sytems for Evinrude Gen1 and Gen2, SkiDoo, SeaDoo and the new Rotax outboard.
The GDI machine has two running modes. Stratified and Homogeneous in which we will talk about in a later post.
It also allows for spray pattern and flow rate analysis which we will also discuss on a separate post.
The Engine Management System of a GDI is designed to open the injectors for short microseconds, with a maximum opening duration of only 5 milliseconds, and visual analysis of the injectors spray pattern could be both difficult and dangerous. When mounted on the ASNU Classic GDI, the injectors are being supplied with the correct peak and hold currents and firing in sequential mode simulating those of the vehicles ECU. The ASNU system allows the user to safely examine the injectors Spray pattern in greater detail for any discrepancies in the fuel distribution and atomisation.
In some operating modes, the ASNU system opens the injectors for a much longer duration, thus exaggerating the spray pattern and making it easier to examine the spray’s performance. The ASNU system allows the user to safely examine the injectors Spray pattern in greater detail for any discrepancies in the fuel distribution and atomisation.
The second part of the system is the ASNU 2 stroke GDI box. The 2 Stroke GDI system has been produced to drive Evinrude and Ficht Direct Injectors with an ASNU Classic GDI

We researched a few different systems and talked to there owners and even sent dirty injectors to different fuel injector injector service shops with them thinking we were just outboard owners. The results between different machines and processes had wide range of results. We went with the system in where the best results were found.
