For over 120 years, the Byers family has been a cornerstone of Columbus, Ohio’s transportation industry. The legacy began in 1897 when George W. Byers founded Blue Ribbon Stables, a well-known horse trading business that also built buggies for the Chillicothe and Columbus areas. As a renowned showman, he staged the largest horse sale in central Ohio, renting the entire Ohio State Fairgrounds and installing electric lights at his own expense—long before the rest of the country had caught on to the new century.
Fast forward to 2025, one of Columbus most historical and reputable dealerships also oversees 15 Hertz locations around Central Ohio, sprawling from Newark, to Marysville, to several locations in the Columbus Area and 6 in the Dayton area.
