Funday Sunday: If you have not been to the Hudson House in Dallas, Tx….GO. Even if you are not a whisky/bourbon person….Jenna makes the most amazing old fashioned. Her house made bitters and Orange bitters make this drink the gentle lover of libations. Add some east coast oysters which are flown in, and you have the perfect ending to a fantastic night.

Fun fact!
Did you know that the infamously known baguette is not actually the preferred bread of the French? This is called traditionalle. It’s shorter than a baguette, and while still crispy on the outside, it is very soft and moist on the inside. So tasty!!! Pair it with your favorite cheese and a white wine…magnifique!

Tuesday travels: On this particular Tuesday, we were at the cathedral in Strasbourg. Did you know there are two Notre Dame cathedrals? This is known as the lesser one. This is a photo of the gorgeous Astronomical Clock: All the parts of the clock together are 18 m (59 ft) high. The clock shows much more than the official time; it also indicates solar time, the day of the week, the month, the year, the sign of the zodiac, the phase of the moon and the position of several planets. This is a must see in person to truly feel the enormousness of it all.

Have you ever traveled by river? This is Amadeus’s Silver. This ship travels from southern France through Germany. Here you see it decked out in Christmas lights as we were visiting all of the Christmas markets. What a fabulous experience! If you’ve never been on a river cruise, let me tell you, you are missing out! The crew was absolutely delightful and the service and food top notch. Let me know if you need info!

Throwback Thursday: I know this picture isn’t of a monument or some castle in a far away land….but THIS was a moment of pure bliss and contentment.
We were in Paris on a Secret Food Tour. The lady in the red hat was our guide. We followed her from one small shop to another, gathering the best basket of foods from which we would later feast. There I stood with my turquoise backpack soaking up every morsel of the experience. Heaven.
What was your last moment of pure bliss while traveling? I would love to hear it!

Winning Wednesday! On this Wednesday last December we were walking through the quaint little streets of Koblenz, Germany. We were serenaded by this local group of musicians. As if the town wasn’t dreamy enough, this experience added another lovely surprise to our day.

Manic Monday: Imagine…long flight overnight. You get to your hotel. They can’t find your booked room. After 30 minutes of searching they realize it was booked for that same day…but a year in the future. So, you text your agent. She says: “I’m on it. I’ll get you taken care of.” So you take your luggage and walk down the street to a tiny cafe. It is 9:00am. You order a latte and a pastry. You sit, staring out the window. Listening to the banter of other patrons speaking in French, and that’s when it hits you. I couldn’t be happier! I’m in the loveliest city in the world. I have no where to go, no where to be….and I’m in heaven. Oh yes, not only did we have a room…and it was even BETTER than the first one. THAT is why you choose a travel agent. That backup plan, that person who can make it all happen. While you sit in the perfect little cafe drinking the perfect latte. Let ME be your person with the backup plan!!!
