Wow! Madrid is fabulous! It has officially become one of my favorite cities I've ever visited!
This post will be a little long because I want to give you a thorough review. I'll write a separate post about the Royal Palace because it deserves one all on its own—it was absolutely incredible!
We are staying at The Palace in Madrid, and the location is wonderful. There are so many things within walking distance to see and explore. The city is amazingly clean, feels very safe, and the weather has been beautiful. It's warm but not humid, and there are so many shaded areas that you hardly feel the sun.
We arrived on our first day completely wiped out from travel, but we did make it to Oven for dinner. We had a spaghetti dish and a cookie dessert, and both were fresh and delicious. We didn't get to see much else that evening because I was handling some travel-related items, but it was still a nice day—and we even got to see the Pope!
Today, we embarked on a private walking tour of Madrid, and WOW! I was absolutely blown away by the history and architecture. Everything we learned was fascinating, and the city's beauty is truly unmatched.
A huge shout-out to Valessa Cultural Services for arranging both our tour and hotel accommodations.
They are one of my trusted suppliers for Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, and they are simply incredible! My clients love them, and so do I.
They handled every detail for us, making everything seamless and enjoyable.
Another special thank you to Gabriella Riberio for introducing me to such amazing suppliers.
Without her knowledge and expertise, many of us travel advisors would miss out on some of the very best partners in the industry. I am truly grateful for her partnership.
After our tour, we stopped at VIPS for lunch. I had a club sandwich, and Chris had a burger. Both were good and hit the spot.
Later, we visited an underground tapas bar called Loa Bar Hawaiano for tapas and beverages. It was a very unique experience, and everything was delicious.
As we continued exploring, we caught glimpses of the Stock Exchange, Congress, and the Prado Museum.
Honestly, I loved everything about this city and wish we had a few more days here.
In fact, next year before the POW 2027 Cruise to Italy and the Greek Isles, we are definitely planning to arrive a few days early so we can spend more time in Madrid!
Getting around was easy, most people spoke English, and everyone we encountered was incredibly friendly. I have been highly impressed and cannot wait to start sending more of my clients here.
Enjoy the photos from our Visit, and stay tuned for my upcoming post about the Royal Palace, which we were fortunate enough to visit during our walking tour. Trust me—you won't want to miss it
