We're ready for anything those crazy bees do!!!

We had to get an extra tall scissors lift for this job. Bees 50 ft up in the air in the soffit at the peak of the roof. 9 ft wide walkway between the buildings. 8.5 ft wide lift. 3 inches of clearance on each side. It was a tight fit, but we got it done. Bees successfully relocated to a hive box!!! 😁🐝🐝🐝🥳

Crazy bees!!!

We caught a small swarm last night.

This morning I went to transfer them into a box. The bees are circling and circling and circling in the vacuum bucket. I put a flash light on the side so I could see them.

Craziest thing I've seen!!! I think they are trying to swarm inside the bucket. 😲 Now wondering do they do this inside their hives before they swarm off???

Wow!!! They never cease to amaze me.

Last night we moved our trailer of 32 honey production hives to a new yard location in Zephyrhills near the Green Swamp that we are hoping will give us a good Gallberry honey flow. Go bees!!! 🤞🍯🐝

Before the move, some on the hives on the trailer had grown to deep and a half or double deeps, so did splits on all the stronger ones to equalize all of them to single deeps and left the splits in our Odessa yard. Buying a bunch of queens this week and will install them in the splits this coming weekend. 😁💕🐝.

Finally hit the 100 hive mark with these splits. 💯🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝😁 Woot woot!!!

We got a call from the owners of the grove where we keep some of our hives. 🐝🐝🐝 This little swarm had been in this tangerine tree for almost a week. I placed a frame of drawn comb into the tree next to the swarm and they all climbed onboard. I put the frame into a NUC box that I set next to the tree and then came I back at sunset and moved the box to one of our other bee yards.

The smell of the orange and tangerine flowers in the grove is amazing. All the trees in the grove are blooming. It's a wonderful thing. 🍊🌸🌺🌼🐝🍊🍯🍯🍯

Out with SMARTstart Pasco in Dade City today for their 6th Annual Vendor Food Fair at UF/IFAS Pasco County Extension - One Stop Shop. We're here 11 - 1. Stop by and get lunch from one of the food truck vendors, sample my honey and yummy food from other vendors!
