So, dipping my toe into a project which had laid fallow for a while…the sugar mill loading dock and liquid sugar loading platforms…
I want to portray a tight, industrial look where they would make efficient use of the space, perhaps even doubling up duty for the car spots…
Obviously, the stars of the show at the Sugar mill are the large bulk sugar dumping towers.. but the plant also ships out consumer sized packages such as the boxes of individual sized sugar packs (such as what one sees on the table at restaurants) as well as things like boxes of sugar cubes which is used for yea and coffee, and bottles of other products such as molasses and simple syrup like is used in bars to make drinks… additionally, larger consumer packaging is manufactured to and is shipped out in pallets with containers such as 5-, 10-, 20- and 50- pound bags of as many as 10 different types of sugar, for larger volume customers that do not need a whole carload amount..
The big issue is going to happen during operations… this track for these cars is running BEHIND the big bulk dumpers… tight clearance already for an HO scale conductor but an even more interesting problem for actual human sized fingers… am designing with this issue in mind
