Out of the house and into the Dome!! This house has been wonderful for Cassie and I. Great neighbors and close to town. Any sharing you can do would be gratefully appreciated! Thank you!

Now that we have moved into the Dome, the farm house on Tasker Hill Road in Conway is ready to be sold. I have lived there for 29 years and done many upgrades and updates to the house, barn/garage and surrounding property. It was built in 1900 as one of the original farms on that road. My family, the Callahans, are only the third family to own this property. [ 422 more words ]

The lights are finally on at the Dome! Ivar Engen of Engen Electric did a wonderful job installing all of our electric work and Anna at Rockingham Electric in North Conway was a huge help getting the right lights ordered. The fans are super quiet and the air circulates around the Dome easily.

We are finally done with most of the painting. Just a few touch ups to do once the grout is finished on the first floor. The kitchen is also done, with the exception of our dish washer which is lingering in the Lowes world of shipping. Andrew Narducci did an amazing job of building our cabinets. He used the wood that Mike cute off the property and had milled and planned out. [ 45 more words ]

Mike is in charge of all mud...walls, ceilings and floors, concrete, tile and drywall. You name it, if it involves mud he can do it! The upstairs bathroom gets some wall board and lots of mud. Love the octagonal window he installed. The other photo is Mike finishing up the tiling in the kitchen. We found a very nice Italian tile that will cover the entire first floor.

The painting has begun! Mike has stuccoed most of the walls to smooth out the gunite. They have cured and are now ready to be painted. The kitchen walls are done and awaiting cabinets. Our new refrigerator is standing guard and holding our lunch fixings. I have to stay behind Mike and his skim coating of the walls, but ahead of him and his drywall. Painting the inside of the upstairs closets is easier to do with out dry wall blocking the light!

We hired a crane to lift it up from the center, and then with help of many friends, (thank you Brenda, Scotty, Allen, Brett and Frank for your time and help!) we pulled the edges apart and the crane lowered it down. As you can see Mike can build faster than I can post! The stairs to the second floor are built and we are now doing the finishing touches - plugging screw holes then sand, tack, poly...repeat. He used Douglas Fir so the wood has a beautiful warm pink glow to it - clear poly is all that will be needed. So nice to not have to use a ladder to get up there now!
