Logistics Account Executive
LTL Freight - Territory Account Executive
REPORTS TO: Director of Sales
OVERVIEW OF ROLE: To ensure the customer is always serviced first. To develop and grow quality transportation customers. To be a well-trained provider of transportation logistics services, to include, LTL, FTL and integrated transportation services to targeted customers in order to meet company’s growth and operating income goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Service the customer.
• Through personal contact, understand customer expectations and consistently communicate them to the Operations team ensuring they are met.
• Keep Operations team informed about any potential issues with clients.
• Communicate customer requirements and freight characteristics concisely to Operations team.
2. Attain overall revenue goals.
• Attain and maintain revenue goals as outlined in orientation process. This includes attainment of new customers and maintaining existing customers relationships.
3. Effectively plan and report sales activity.
• Effectively utilize time by planning and scheduling appointments with customers and by completing tasks to meet set deadlines.
• Keep accurate, organized client files.
• Meet minimum standards with respect to sales calls and established revenue requirements.
4. Miscellaneous
• Possess knowledge of competitors’ offerings to effectively sell.
• Pursue personal development opportunities and encourage others along the same path.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Previous sales experience with a proven success record of achieving goals.
• Transportation Logistics experience is preferred.
• Must possess good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to foster two-way internal and external communication.
• Must demonstrate successful leadership abilities and desire to work as part of the service center team.
• Good organizational skills and knowledge of on-line computer and familiarity with PC system.
• Ability to work hours required and travel as required.
