Air Force Sergeants Association Overview

AFSA's Mission is To advocate improved quality of life and economic fairness that will support the well-being of the Total Air Force (Air Force Active Duty, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve Command) enlisted personnel and their families. The Air Force Sergeants Association was founded in 1961 by four Air Force NCOs who recognized the need for an organization to represent the voice of all enlisted personnel to America’s elected and military leaders. AFSA represents its 100,000 members by advocating for their interests to America’s elected and military leaders. As a federally-chartered Veteran Service Organization, AFSA is able to lobby on Capitol Hill on behalf of its members. AFSA is organized in seven divisions across the U.S. and overseas; the heart of AFSA is its 129 chapters. The association is governed by an all-volunteer 11-member Executive Council composed of an Internationally-elected President, Vice President, Trustee Retired/Veteran Affairs, Senior Advisor, and 7 Divisional elected Division Presidents. Each Division has a similar Executive Council headed by an elected president. The Military Coalition is comprised of 31 organizations representing more than 5.5 million members of the uniformed services--active, reserve, retired, survivors, veterans--and their families. Division 4: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas

Their main objective is:

The purpose of this organization is: To provide professional development to the enlisted force and provide for the welfare of members serving or who have served in the Air Force. Also provide an avenue to voice concerns to representatives in Washington and to give back to the base and local community. Meetings are the third Wednesday of each month at 1330. Location varies. We have 500 enlisted members on this base. We would like to recruit at least 50% to be members and at least 25% of the dependents and officers. Strength is in numbers. Build strong bonds with all professional organizations operating on base as well as military affiliated organizations around the community.
