I found this buried in our family shared album from the final night of our Disney Wonder cruise—and apparently I have impeccable timing.

During dinner at Triton’s, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto came dancing through the restaurant.

Captain Mickey even stopped directly in front of Skye and put on a show!

Kelly, Skye and Cole probably remember this perfectly.

Me? I was apparently filming somewhere else, visiting the restroom or otherwise choosing the precise five minutes during which NOT to be at our table.

I plan Disney vacations professionally.

Naturally, I missed the whole thing.

Thank goodness Skye captured it!

Disney Cruise Line experts: was this a scheduled final-night farewell, and does anyone know what it was called?

This may be the greatest port farewell we’ve ever received.

Napier, New Zealand already feels like an entire city styled after Disney’s Hollywood Studios—with its incredible Art Deco architecture—but they took things to another level for the Disney Wonder!

As we returned to the ship, we were greeted by vintage cars, performers dressed in period costumes and live musicians singing “The Bare Necessities.”

It was such a special celebration of Disney’s visit—and one of those completely unexpected travel moments we’ll never forget.

Now THAT is how you send off a Disney ship!
