Founded in 2007, Music Box Films serves the viewing interests of sophisticated US movie audiences in select cinemas nationwide, on DVD and Blu-Ray, on cable TV and on emerging electronic delivery formats. Music Box Films is independently owned and operated by the Southport Music Box Corporation which also owns and operates the Music Box Theatre, Chicago’s premier venue for independent and foreign
films. In 2013, Music Box Films launched Doppelgänger Releasing, a distribution label devoted to bringing the best genre films to theaters, VOD and DVD/Blu-Ray. Doppelgänger Releasing's titles include the comedy-horror movies "Eddie: The Sleepwalking Cannibal" and "100 Bloody Acres."
