If you are from the 828, rather from the foothills up to the WNC Mountains, you more than likely have a freezer full of meat. You probably worked really hard to provide that meat for your family. You hunted, fished, farmed, and processed it. A lot of hard work goes into those freezers, and a lot of that hard work was ruined by Hurricane Helene. We were able to provide a freezer, donated by Chad Eckard and Annette Carpenter, to Garren Creek Fire Department for their community. The meat was supplied from Caldwell's Meat in Maiden, NC.
