✨ It’s been a little while, so let’s reintroduce myself! ✨

Hi! I’m Katie! Whether you’ve been following along for a while or you’re new here, I’m so happy you’re here!

I’m a mama to two little ones, military spouse, travel advisor, book lover, and someone who is almost always planning the next adventure.

A little about me:
✨ I’m married to my husband, Hunter, and we have two little ones, Aylin and Hudson, who keep life interesting!
✨ I grew up on a farm in West Virginia!
✨ My love for traveling really started in high school when I had the opportunity to travel to Ireland with my high school honor choir. That experience opened my eyes to just how much of the world there was to explore, and I’ve been hooked ever since. (Thanks, Mr. Harkless, for helping spark that love of travel!)
✨ I’m a Coast Guard spouse, so I understand firsthand how unpredictable military life can be, especially when it comes to planning vacations around military schedules.
✨ I also serve as the Ombudsman for my husband’s Coast Guard cutter! Essentially, I’m a family liaison, helping connect military families with resources, information, and support. It’s a role I’m incredibly grateful to have!
✨ I absolutely love reading, especially when I can find a little quiet time to myself!
✨ I love all things travel, from Disney destinations and cruises to all-inclusive resorts, romantic getaways, and exploring somewhere completely new. I’m always up for a new adventure!
✨ One of my favorite parts of being a travel advisor is getting to experience destinations, resorts, cruise lines, and excursions firsthand so I can bring that knowledge and experience back to my clients.

A cruise souvenir that’s coming home with me forever😂

you can actually get tattooed or pierced onboard Virgin Voyages at Squid Ink!

One of the coolest parts is that Squid Ink brings in artists from around the world, each with their own specialties and styles. You can pick from flash pieces available onboard or talk with an artist about creating something custom.

Getting a tattoo onboard was already on my list, so we stopped by Squid Ink on embarkation day to make sure we could snag an appointment. Bruno did ours and we LOVE how they turned out.

If this is something you want to do during your sailing, I’d recommend stopping by early to check out the artists, their work and appointment availability.

Add this to your San Diego itinerary…

Annie’s Canyon Trail is such a fun way to switch things up from the beaches and typical San Diego stops. You’ll make your way through narrow sandstone walls, squeeze through a real slot canyon, climb your way to the top, and be rewarded with some pretty incredible views🤎

Fair warning: there may be a few “how exactly am I supposed to fit through there?!” moments 😂 but that’s half the fun.

Whether you’re adding a few extra days onto a Southern California vacation or looking for something a little different to do while you’re in San Diego, this one is definitely worth saving!

I stopped by Dry Dock onboard Brilliant Lady to get my hair done and was in and out in under an hour!

They offer different styling options, including looks specifically for Scarlet Night ❤️ and even braiding—so whether you want something simple or a little extra vacation glam, you’ve got options right onboard.

Definitely a fun little treat before dinner, Scarlet Night, or a night out around the ship✨
