I’ll admit it… Victoria was probably the port I was least excited about on this trip😅

I really hadn’t heard much about it before our cruise, and compared to everything we had planned in Alaska, I honestly wasn’t expecting it to be a highlight.

I was SO wrong.

Victoria has completely surprised us. It’s beautiful, full of character, and there is so much history everywhere you look. We’ve spent the evening exploring the city and taking in as much as we can with the time we have here.

And somehow, the port I was least excited about has quickly become one of our favorites of the entire trip.

We’re actually still here in Victoria as I’m posting this, and I already can’t wait to share more about what we did, how we explored, and some of the places we found along the way 🇨🇦

Sometimes the ports you have the fewest expectations for end up surprising you the most.

No cell service for views like this? Worth it….

One of our stops during our White Pass Railway + Klondike Suspension Bridge excursion was Bernard Lake in Fraser, BC, and I mean… LOOK AT THIS VIEW.

I’ll happily be unreachable for a little while when this is the trade-off.

5:45 AM alarm. On vacation. By choice.

And I’d do it again in a heartbeat for this view.

We bundled up, grabbed some coffee, and watched Alaska slowly wake up around us as we sailed toward Dawes Glacier.

The mountains. The waterfalls. The ice floating past the ship. And then seeing the glacier come into view…

THIS was one of those moments where I just stood there thinking, how is this real?

I knew Alaska was going to be beautiful. I don’t think I was prepared for just how incredible it would actually feel to experience it.

Core memory. Absolutely worth the 5:45 AM wake-up

Your Alaskan cruise might start on embarkation day, but your vacation doesn’t have to.

One thing I always recommend when flying in for a cruise is arriving at least a day early, and Seattle is a city where I’d absolutely take advantage of that extra time.

For our stay before our Alaskan cruise, we chose The Edgewater Hotel. I wanted somewhere that was convenient for cruising but also gave us the chance to actually enjoy being in Seattle—and this checked both boxes.

You’re right along the waterfront, close to Pike Place Market and plenty of places to explore, with beautiful views of Elliott Bay. Depending on your cruise line, you’re either incredibly close to Pier 66 or just a short drive from Pier 91.

It also has a personality that you don’t always get from a typical pre-cruise hotel. There’s a whole rock & roll history behind this place—including a pretty famous story involving The Beatles and a fishing pole that I had to include in the video.

For me, pre-cruise hotels aren’t one-size-fits-all. Some clients want the easiest option possible, some want to explore the city, and some want their hotel to feel like part of the vacation.

The Edgewater definitely falls into that last category.

Officially onboard and our Alaskan cruise adventure has begun!

We made it onto Celebrity Edge and spent our first little bit exploring the ship, checking out all the spaces, and taking it all in. And yes, I’m already obsessed.

I’ve been looking forward to experiencing Alaska AND Celebrity for myself for so long, and I’m so excited to finally be here. Over the next week I’ll be sharing the ship, our room, food, excursions, Alaska and probably way too many pictures along the way.

Next stop… ALASKA! 🏔️

Seattle, we made it!

We spent our first day doing a little exploring, a little eating, and definitely some much-needed resting after traveling. We checked out Pike Place Market, wandered around a bit, ate some good food, and started getting into vacation mode.

Tomorrow, we’re off for our Alaskan adventure and I seriously cannot wait! I’ll be sharing plenty along the way as we experience Alaska and Celebrity Edge for ourselves.

I’ll also be sharing more about our Seattle hotel soon, so be on the lookout for that! It’s been the perfect place to start this trip before heading to the ship.
