What planning a group cruise actually looks like… ✨

Most people see the finished vacation.

I see the room assignments, deposits, payment deadlines, special requests, group dining, excursions, emails, phone calls, and all the little details that help make the experience seamless for everyone involved.

Right now, I’m behind the scenes helping coordinate an incredible group sailing for a group of directors and their teams aboard Utopia of the Seas, and it’s been so much fun bringing everything together.

Whether it’s a family reunion, corporate retreat, incentive trip, girls getaway, or group cruise, my goal is always the same: take the stress off your plate so you can focus on making memories.

Because when everyone finally steps onboard, all those months of planning are worth it. ❤️

I can’t tell you how many times someone has told me they found a cruise for “$399” and my immediate response is:

“Okay, but what’s included?”

Because the answer can vary A LOT depending on the cruise line.

Some cruise lines include more dining options, some include more beverages, and some include things that would cost extra elsewhere.

That’s why comparing cruises isn’t always apples to apples.

Have you ever been surprised by something that was (or wasn’t) included on a cruise?

Cruising 101 Episode 4!
Should you book excursions through the cruise line or on your own?

The answer is… it depends.

Cruise line excursions are usually the easiest option. They’re coordinated with the ship, and if there’s a delay, the cruise line knows where you are.

Third-party excursions can sometimes be less expensive, offer smaller group sizes, and give you more unique experiences.

Neither option is automatically better. It comes down to your comfort level, budget, destination, and what type of experience you’re looking for.

That’s why I help my clients decide what makes the most sense for their specific trip instead of giving the same answer to everyone.

I haven’t been posting on my socials very frequently lately… and honestly, it’s because life has been busy in the best way…

Between helping clients plan vacations, keeping up with travelers who are currently out making memories, and juggling summer with two little ones, there’s been a lot going on behind the scenes.

Lately, one topic keeps coming up in our house: “Mickey’s boat.”

Aylin has decided that she absolutely needs to go on Mickey’s cruise this summer. Every day she’s talking about seeing Mickey, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, and “Punzel”. If you ask her what she wants to do this summer, the answer is always the same: go on Mickey’s boat. 😂

So naturally, I’ve been over here doing what I do best—trying to make all the pieces fit together.

Between our family’s schedule, work travel, summer activities, and everything else that comes with life, I’ve been seeing if I can make a Disney Cruise work before summer is over. Because if you’ve ever had a toddler set their heart on something, you know they don’t let you forget it. 😅

For now, we’re still in the planning phase, but hearing her excitement every day makes me want to find a way to make it happen. And if we do pull it off, you can bet I’ll be sharing all the magic along the way.

Now excuse me while I continue trying to make Mickey’s boat fit into our summer schedule😅😂

Cruising 101 Episode 3!
Pier ports vs tender ports… yes, there’s actually a difference.

A pier port means your ship docks directly at the port and you can walk right off the ship.

A tender port means the ship anchors offshore and you’ll take smaller boats to get onto land.

Tender ports can take longer, may be affected by weather, and can be more difficult for mobility concerns or little kids.

It’s one of those cruise details people usually don’t learn about until AFTER they book 😅

Memorial Day will always be about remembering and honoring those who gave everything for our freedom

Thinking especially of the Gold Star families today — the families carrying a loss most of us could never imagine. Your loved ones and their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Today we remember, honor, and reflect on those who gave their lives in service to our country.

Cruising 101 Episode 2!
Inside room, oceanview, balcony, or suite… what’s actually worth it?

Not every cruise room is the same — and honestly, the “best” room depends on HOW you cruise.

✨ Inside room: cheapest option, great if you’re barely in the room
✨ Oceanview: natural light without paying balcony prices
✨ Balcony: private outdoor space + fresh air
✨ Suites: more space, better locations, and usually extra perks

I always tell my clients not to book based on what looks the fanciest online… book based on your vacation style and budget.

Going to Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, you’ve probably heard people talk about the pier walk… so on our Disney Destiny sailing, my husband and I decided to test it out for ourselves for the first time (without the kids 😅).

For us, it ended up being about a half mile walk and took around 10 minutes at a normal pace. Disney also has wagons available for kids and golf carts for guests with disabilities, which is great to know ahead of time.

We actually stopped about halfway to take some PhotoPass pictures, which made it feel like an easy break instead of one long walk.

Honestly? We didn’t think it was bad at all with just the two of us. I definitely think doing it with kids will be a different experience though, so next time we’ll be testing that out too 😂

What do you think about the walk to Lookout Cay? Would it bother you or would you still do it?
