Support your travel agents!
My friend Victoria Fricke said this so well in her post today, and it hit home for so many of us in this industry. See the highlighted line in the pic
We answer messages from ball fields, family dinners, hotel rooms, airports, and sometimes from bed because travel does not always happen during “normal” business hours.
We try to set boundaries, but flights change. Weather happens. Resorts have questions. Clients get excited or nervous after their workday ends. And when that happens, we show up.
We research.
We train.
We travel so we can see destinations firsthand.
We ask the questions, walk the resorts, test the transfers, and notice the details that make your trip better.
We love what we do. But we are also small businesses.
And here is what many people don’t realize: when you book directly with a resort, cruise line, or big online site, the travel advisor commission is often already built into the price. You may not be saving money by skipping an advisor. That money often just stays with the corporation instead of supporting a real person, a small business, and a family.
We know not everyone can be our client.
We know budgets matter.
We know sometimes people want to handle things on their own.
But it does sting when friends or family book trips and never even think to ask the travel advisor in their life.
Not because we feel entitled to your business. But because this is how we support our families and grow.
This is how the late nights, missed moments, trainings, site inspections, and behind-the-scenes work start to pay off.
And support does not only mean booking a trip.

Tagging us when someone asks for travel help.
Referring your friends.
Sending the inquiry instead of assuming it is “too small.”
Letting us quote the trip before you click book online or transfer to us after it’s booked (applies to some)
Trusting that we are not just “booking vacations,” but helping protect your time, money, and experience.
We are planners, researchers, problem solvers, advocates, emergency contacts, detail catchers, and sometimes the calm voice when travel gets messy.
It all matters more than you know.
