This very special home has been owned by the Palmer family for more than 450 years passing from father to son through 13 generations. King Henry VIII has stayed here and the manor is regularly used for filming including “Poirot” and most recently “The other Boleyn girl” We are lucky to enjoy a private tour of the house.

If you know me, you know I am fascinated by all things in the Tudor Era, specifically with Henry VIII. Today we visited Hampton Court. Originally a modest manor, it was transformed in 1514 by Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, and subsequently expanded by King Henry VIII into a massive complex of state rooms, kitchens, and entertainment halls. One photo- a close up of a face in the wooden ceiling, was a reminder to the court that there are ears everywhere. They are placed in the eaves, hence the term “ eavesdropping”-
