The first time I climbed the Acropolis was in 2014 with the aid of my good friend Ciaran Blumenfeld. Without her help I wouldn’t of made it. Ever since then I made it my goal to climb again without almost dying. On Tuesday my husband and I climbed to the top with relative ease. I was elated! Reaching this goal was a journey that started a year and a half ago. Since then I’ve lost over 100 lbs and changed my lifestyle. I got sober and incorporated exercise into my daily life. Climbing this hill was symbolic of the hill I had to climb to fulfill my dreams. Never say never.

Our Labadee Traditions tour took us to the village of Labadie where we learned about voodoo medicine and how they press sugar cane to make rum. We were treated to an interesting show which included dancing and fire swallowing! So fun!
