Rolling into June, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the meaningful work our teams carried out during Mental Health Awareness Month. Throughout May, our crews partnered with the Seamen’s Church Institute to visit vessels, share mental‑health resources, and remind mariners that support is available year‑round.

Life at sea can be demanding, and these check‑ins—where we share information, a meal, and space for real conversations—make a genuine difference.

Thank you to every team member who helped make this year’s outreach thoughtful, supportive, and impactful.

Here’s a look back at some of our favorite snaps 📷 of Mental Health Awareness Month visits across our terminals.

This week we welcomed Congressman Donald Norcross to our Camden facilities for an update by our team on cargo activity and ongoing capital infrastructure investments.

The visit included a tour of Camden Yard Steel and ended with Congressman Norcross presenting $250,000 in Community Project Funding to South Jersey Ports for a new high‑mast light tower at our Balzano Marine Terminal. This investment will improve access, visibility, and safety for our workforce and partners.

🚢🦇 BATMAN is “on duty” at South Jersey Ports loading 30,000 MT of material!

When a vessel named BATMAN pulls up to the dock, you can’t help but feel a little extra safe and protected.

Our crews are loading 30,000 metric tons of material, keeping commerce moving and the region supplied…with a superhero watching over the operation.

South Jersey Ports, Gotham approved.

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month throughout May, South Jersey Ports is partnering with the Seamen’s Church Institute of Philadelphia & South Jersey to visit vessels across our terminals and remind crews that they’re not alone. Life at sea can be demanding, and taking a moment to check in with yourself or a fellow crew member truly matters.

Our teams brought resource brochures outlining support available both portside and internationally, along with lunch and real conversations about the importance of mental health and staying connected.

Special thanks to the partners and team who made this visit meaningful especially Helene from Seamen’s Church Institute; Cody Croce, Shop Steward - Local 18; Ed Luedtke and Franco of South Jersey Ports.

Strong crews look out for each other this month and every month.

Take Your Child to Work Day brought so much joy to South Jersey Ports! Our employees and their kids filled the terminals with energy, curiosity, and big smiles. 😃

We’re grateful to everyone who participated, helped organize, and we want to give a special shoutout to Board of Directors member Sheila Roberts for visiting and supporting the day.

The kids and staff had a wonderful time together. Just look at these adorable photos!

A big thank you to the Captain and Crew of the Norse Savannah 🚢 for welcoming our new CEO, Dave Mayer, aboard for his first vessel tour with the South Jersey Port Corporation.

The crew graciously guided Dave throughout the vessel, including the engine room ⚙️ and the bridge, while sharing firsthand insight into daily operations and life onboard. Hearing directly from the crew about their experiences at sea - often spending months away from home - offered a powerful and eye-opening perspective on the dedication behind their work 🌊.

The visit reinforced Dave’s deep appreciation for the skill, commitment, and teamwork that keep operations running safely and efficiently every day.

Special thanks as well to vessel surveyor Rich Christiansen for joining the tour and providing valuable explanations and context throughout, helping to further illuminate the complexity of vessel operations 📊

It may feel warm and sunny today, but it wasn’t long ago that our crews were powering through brutal winter weather to keep cargo moving and our customers served. We recently held an appreciation lunch to celebrate our team!
👏 🙌

Eighteen straight days below freezing, a major snow and ice storm, and –15° windchills didn’t stop them, they still handled 64,921 short tons and kept 1,060 trucks moving.

We were grateful to have Assemblyman Bill Moen join CEO David Mayer in recognizing our team’s outstanding work and commitment.

This team shows up when it’s hardest. Their dedication keeps South Jersey’s economy moving. 💪

We wrapped up Women’s History Month with impact💥

Rose Hope, Senior Marketing Manager at South Jersey Ports, joined an all-female panel at Camden County Technical Schools, speaking with students about breaking into traditionally male-dominated trade careers.

Through honest conversations about her path, challenges, and successes, Rose helped show students that there’s no single “right” way forward—just the courage to pursue what interests you.

Moments like this help expand what’s possible for the next generation ✨

Thank you to Camden County Technical Schools for the opportunity to connect, share, and inspire.
